Margie Darlene (Matmiller) Seely, 78, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 8:05 AM Saturday May 29, 2010 in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Margie was born Mar. 1, 1932, in Shelby County, IL the daughter of George Fred and Stella Deal Matmiller.

She married Harold L."Pete" Seely on April 29, 1950, in Shelbyville and he passed away Aug. 3, 2003.

Margie was always a loving homemaker for her family and worked side by side with her husband Pete in the Pete Seely Auction Service for many years. Previously, she worked at Robertson's Sundries, the Dean Moore Locker Plant, Banning (later Switzer's) Grocery Store all in Cowden and did in home care for the elderly.

She was a talented seamstress and loved to do floral designing for family and many friends.

Surviving are her children: Debra L. Seely, Terre Bethe Moffett and husband Lee and Marke Seely and wife Anna all of Cowden; grandchildren: Corey Logue and wife Patty, Kiley Logue, Richard Moffett and wife Kali, Farah Summers and husband Blake, Ramie Hoene and husband Roy, Garrett Moffett, Lydia Seely, Ryder Dean Seely, Kara Thompson and husband Brad, Kory Jones, Casey Jones and Rebecca Finley; great grandchildren: Wyatt Giles, Weston Giles, Wonea Giles, Casey Lee, Amber Lee, Pacen Logue, Daythan Summers, Kynlee Summers, Derby Thompson and Ian Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete, her parents, brother George Duane Matmiller, sister and brother-in-law Beverly Dilley and husband Charles.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday June 3, 2010 in the First Christian Church of Cowden. Pastor Darrell Hinkle and Pastor Tim Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Memorials can be made to the Family.
