Mary Seely, telephone operator
JOHNSTOWN – Services will be held for Mrs. Mary V. Seely, 69, of West Main Street, who died at home Saturday after a long illness.
Born in Spencer, Tioga County, Mrs. Seely attended high school there. She also attended Cobleskill Technical College.
She was a telephone operator for the New York Telephone Co. in Cobleskill, where she lived from 1961 to 1981. Mrs. Seely moved to Johnstown in 1981.
Survivors include her husband, Miles Seely, whom she married Sept. 1, 1946; two daughters, Gretchen Lebi of Allendale, N.J., and Jean Guardiola of Katy, Texas; two sons, Stuart Seely of Johnstown and Frederick Seely of High Falls, Ulster County; two sisters, Rosemond Jones of Spencer and Olive Erickson of Lantana, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Barter and Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 0 tonight at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery, Spencer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
