COUNTY NATIVE DIES IN HOSPITAL
Hancock County Farmer Dies Here

Melvin Seely, 81, native of Shelby County, died at the Major Hospital at midnight Thursday, after an illness of several weeks. His home was near Greenfield.

Born June 19, 1867, in Liberty Township, he was the son of Liberty J. and Margaret (Newton) Seely. He had been a resident of Shelby and Hancock counties all his life, having been engaged in farming. His wife died in 1936. Mr. Seely was a member of the Walnut Ridge Friends Church near Carthage. Surviving are three children, Carl Seely of near Greenfield; Mrs. Prather Miller of Greenfield R.R.1, and Mrs. Ore Miller of Centerville; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Midkiff and Mrs. Ethel Fox both of Waldron; Mrs. Mary Cox of this city and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Walnut Ridge Friends Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Ellsworth Runyan officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery in charge of L. V. Hauk. Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Prather Miller after 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
