HALTOM CITY - Randall Seely, 79, a teacher, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, in Haltom City.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Riverside Christian Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Randall Seely was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Electra.

FORT WORTH - Randall Seely, 79, a teacher, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, in Haltom City.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Riverside Christian Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Randall Seely was born to Jim Randall and Alena Faubion Seely Oct. 5, 1918, in Electra. He was Valedictorian of Valley View High School in 1936. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1940 from North Texas State, his Master of Science in 1950 from North Texas State. He taught in Joy 1940-1941 and at Mount Calm 1941-1942. He served in the Army Signal Corps 1942-1945, serving in Greenland and New Jersey. He married the former Mattie B. Reed of Hooks on May 14, 1944, in Fort Monmouth, N.J. He taught at Orange 1945-1948, at Technical High School 1948-1953 and English and Journalism at Amon Carter Riverside High 1953-1980. There, he sponsored the school newspaper and literary magazine. He served on the Haltom City Public Library Board 1963-1993.of perfect attendance at Sunday School. He served as editor of the Education Service Center Region XI Journal from Nov. 1967 to Nov. 1990. He was a member of Sigma Delta Chi, Society of Professional Journalists, Fort Worth Chapter, Fort Worth Retired School Employees, Texas Retired Teachers Association and National Education Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Jimmie Seely and Gene Seely, and a sister, Irena Mann.

Survivors: Wife of 53 years, Mattie Seely of Haltom City; son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. Seely Jr. and Roojee Seely of Kansas City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Hazel Seely of Frisco and Bea Seely of Denton; grandsons, Rob Seely of Bedford and Saroch Huckuntod of Kansas City, Mo.; grandson and wife, Sittichoke and Melissa Huckuntod of Bedford; granddaughter and husband, Jiraporn and Chip Akin of Kansas City, Mo.; great-granddaughter, Samantha Danielle Huckuntod of Kansas City, Mo.; niece, AnneSeely Woodall and husband, Rob, of Highlands; nephews, Fred Mann and wife, Martha, of Duncanville, and Jimmy Mann and wife, Alba, of Cedar Hill; two great-nieces; three great-nephews.
