Ruth Talbot Seely, 85, a 50-year town resident, died at Greenwich Woods Health Care Center on June 13. She died of cardiac arrest, said her family. Born Nov. 15, 1917, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Holton Talbot.

A graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Mass., she was a resident of Greenwich for 50 years. She was active in the First Congregational Church Evening Guild, and was a member of the Smith College Club, the American Association of University Women and the Innis Arden Golf Club.

Her daughter, Carolyn Wiener of Greenwich, and two granddaughters, Catherine D. Wiener and Elizabeth A. Wiener, both of Greenwich, survive Seely. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederic T. Seely.

A graveside service was held at the First Congregational Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwich Hospital, 5 Perryridge Road, Greenwich, CT 06830. Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home of Stamford handled the arrangements.
