The End of an Era by Ruth Klassen

This is autumn, leaves have fallen and you have fallen too. I’m so glad you had the summer, for so many pretty things to view. All the flowers lost their blossoms; it’s a time for things to rest. And I know you’re softly sleeping, as I wonder who will be next. Will you again see the wild geese, as they fly across the sky? Will you hear the clap of thunder, or a rainbow way up high? All we see, hear and dream of, these were all a part of you. So in our heart, you’re still here with us, in each thing we say and do. Roll back time, no one can do it, take back some words that have been spoke. It’s the end of an Era; there’s love, faith and hope. Outside my window small birds hustle as they fly from tree to tree. I’ll go back to where you’re resting, and pretend you’re there with me.
