Thomas "Tom" Seely

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown that God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12. On Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, Tom Seely went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness. Tom was born on Oct. 4, 1975, and was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Christian Life Academy, where he was a three-sport letterman, and he attended Southeastern Louisiana University. Tom was an enthusiastic LSU supporter and will eternally be a loyal CLA Crusader fan. Tom had a gentle spirit and a kind heart which was evident by his love of children and animals. One of his most recent joys was the privilege of coaching the Mets youth league baseball team to a first-place finish. Members of the Mets are serving as honorary pallbearers. Tom was a loyal friend always ready with a pat on the back and an encouraging word. He was a true champion of the underdog. We will always remember him for his winning smile, quick wit, kind words, playful chuckle, forgiving heart and for the twinkle in his eye. Visiting at Christian Life Fellowship on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Dr. Jere Melilli. Interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Tom is survived by his parents, Marie and Steve Seely; grandparents, Jean Sanders and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gay; two sisters, Christina Seely and Tanya Seely; and two brothers, Steve Seely and Trae Seely; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. His faithful pets and companions were his Boston terriers, Rockette and Mia. Pallbearers include Darren Burychka, Randy Jones, Roshaun Matthews, Steve Seely, Trae Seely and Howard Sanders. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian Life Fellowship-Tom Seely Memorial Fund.
