VIRGINIA H. SEELY

Mrs. Seely, 79, of Oak Knoll, Hollidaysburg, died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 20, 1986, in her home, after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 2, 1907, in Elmerod, N.D., the daughter of George L. and Mary (Stean) Head, and Feb. 6, 1925, in Trumansburg, N.Y., married Charles B. Seely, who died Oct. 28, 1978.

Surviving are six children: Charles B. of Hampton, Iowa; Lawrence H. of Holt, Mich.; Georgene H. of Annapolis, Md.; Patricia S. Witt of Edwater, Md.: John S. of Hollidaysburg and George H. of Dayton, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Seely was a member of the Ward Avenue Presbyterian Church, where she served as deaconess and taught Sunday School for over 25 years.

She was also a member of the Altoona Hospital Auxiliary and the Altoona Women’s Club.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Plank & Stitt Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.

SEELY – Services for Virginia H. Seely of Oak Knoll, Hollidaysburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Ward Avenue Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Douglas R. McGallin. Entombment in Alto-Reste Park Mausoleum. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Plank & Stitt Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Blair County.
