Warren A. Seely, 82 of State College, died Friday, March 20, 2001, in hospice at Centre Community Hospital. Born June 28, 1918, on the family farm in Nescopeck Township, Luzerne County, he was the son of the late Warren Augustus and Pearl Schaffer Seely. On Sept. 26, 1953, he married Mary Elizabeth Miller, who survives.

He was a graduate of Nescopeck High School, attending Perkiomen Prep School and graduated from Kerpel Dental Laboratory School. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific theater. From 1953 until the mid 1980s, he owned and operated the Seely Dental Laboratory in State College as a dental laboratory technician. For 30 years, he made the mouth guards for the Penn State football team. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in State College. He enjoyed woodworking and outdoor activities. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David, of Westminster, Mass.; and a brother, William of North Chili, N.Y. A sister and a brother preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, College Township. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George A. Burn officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Briggsville Cemetery, Luzerne County.
