PORT HURON William E. Seely, 80, of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes in his residence on Monday, February 5, 2007.

He was born to Frank and Mae Seely on October 7, 1926 in Port Huron, attended the Port Huron schools and graduated from Port Huron High School in January of 1945.

Bill was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. On October 11, 1947, he married Nora Lee Sawyer.

He drove a truck for Ogden & Moffett and Central Transport for many years, retiring in the late 1980s. He was a member of Teamsters Local #339.

Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Nora Lee Sealy; two children, Linda (Dr. Charles) Hyde-Smith and Paul Seely, both of Kimball Twp.; a former daughter-in-law, Sandra (Steven) Seely Rajnay of Fort Gratiot; four grandchildren, Steven (Rachelle) Hyde and Lisa Seely, both of Kimball Twp., Sara Seely of Saginaw, and Ryan Seely of Kimball Twp.; a great-granddaughter, Kaley Hyde; a step-great-grandson, Tyler VanBuskirk; a sister, Barbara Neumann of Flint; a brother, Frank (Kathleen) Seely of St. Clair; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. The Rev. Robert Trask will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Visitation will be in the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the service.
