Doris Mae Seelye, 86, of Kalispell, "went to be with the Lord" Wednesday Jan. 25, 2012.

Doris was born March 25, 1925, at the family home in Goldfield, Nev., to William and Lennie (Morris) Barlow.

Doris grew up in Silver Peak, Nev., where her father was a deputy sheriff. After high school, the family moved to Hawthorne, Nev.

There Doris worked at the Naval Ammunition Base, where she met Allard Seelye. After World War II and Al's return from the South Pacific, he and Doris were married June 9, 1946, in Hawthorne. The couple then moved to Seattle for two and a half years before settling in Kalispell.

They enjoyed 64 happy years together.

Doris was a member of Central Bible Church since 1949. She enjoyed camping, fishing and the family cabin on Ashley Lake.

Doris drove school bus in the Flathead Valley for many years. In retirement, she looked forward to winters in Arizona. She also took trips to Ireland to visit her daughter, as well as to Mexico and Canada.

She enjoyed playing the piano and guitar and kept in touch with all her family and friends on her computer.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Allard; her parents; and her brother, Bill Barlow.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Skillman and husband John of Lustre, and Melody Nickel and husband Dan of Limerick, Ireland; son, Tim Seelye, and wife Melodee of Kalispell; grandsons, Jonathan Skillman and wife Laura of Bozeman, Justin Skillman and wife Racquel of Bozeman, Ryan Nickel of Washington, D.C., and Corey Nickel of Kandern, Germany; her granddaughters, Ashley Cohen and husband Martin of Houston, Julia Nickel of Limerick, and Lisa and Valerie Seelye of Kalispell; great-grandchildren, Madison, Micah, Madelynn, Finley, Jay and Tyler; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Doris will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 2, at Central Bible Church.
