Mrs. Esther Seelye

PEKIN (PNS) – Mrs. Esther N. Seelye, 59, of 206 Insul died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in Pekin Memorial Hospital. She was a patient one day and had been in failing health five years.

Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Kuecks-Woolsey Funeral Home and at 9:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Gerald J. Verduh officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a wake service at 8 p.m.

She was born April 14, 1918, at Dillon, a daughter of John and Fannie Rush Peplow. She married Alphonse J. Fabry May 2, 1936, at Pekin. He died April 6, 1964. She married Arthur Ray Seelye April 18, 1970, at Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jerry Fabry, Pekin; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Jean Massa, Rochester, N.Y.; three brothers, Richard Peplow, Minneapolis, Minn., Kenneth Peplow, Clarksville, Tenn., and Gerald Peplow; six sisters, Mrs. Fannie Long, Mrs. Virginia Ashton, and Mrs. Elise Anderson, all of Pekin; Mrs. Luella Cooper, Manito, Mrs. Anna Dunn, Cherry Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Gladys Scooneart, Quincy, and four grandchildren.

A sister and four brothers preceded her in death.

She worked with the American Distilling Co. for 25 years, retiring in April 1970.

She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to the church.
