Services Held For Mrs. Seelye

MANITO – Mrs. Hattie E. Seelye, 78, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 27th in Pekin Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30 at the Manito Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Rev. Lester Wence officiated and burial was in Meadow Lawn Cemetery.

Born at Topeka, Dec. 23, 1892, she was a daughter of William and Emma Heyl Himmel. Her marriage to James M. Seelye took place Mar. 15, 1917 at Peoria, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Frances) Wistehuff of Manito and Mrs. Clyde (Marian) Ulrich of Peoria; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Seelye was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebecca Chapter 437, and also a 50 year member of Oak Leaf Camp 4, Royal Neighbors of America.
