Mrs. Mary Seelye

PEKIN (PNS) – Mrs. Mary L. Seelye, 67, of 214 Herget died at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Pekin Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient one day and ill more than a year.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kuecks Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hubert Entwisle officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Eastern Star rite will be accorded at 8 p.m.

She was born Oct. 12, 1901, at Darlington, Ind., a daughter of Alonzo and Elizabeth Gobbel Crister. She was married to Arthur Ray Seelye July 3, 1926, at Danville.

Surviving are her husband and a brother, Roy Christer of Crawfordsville, Ind.

A son and a sister preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

She had operated Seelye’s Market in Pekin for 25 years and retired in 1965.
