Nelson A. Seelye of Mundelein

Nelson A. Seelye, 91, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Libertyville Manor. He was born Dec. 19, 1921 in Pekin, Ill., and had been a resident of Mundelein for most of his life. Nelson was an Air Force veteran and a former employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Company. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving are six children, Sandy, Nelson "Topper," Bob, Candy, Richard and Guy Seelye; stepchildren, Dawn (Bob) Hall, Dennis (Sharon) Herchenbach and Donald (Ginger) Herchenbach; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Seeyle; and sons, David and Stephen. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Military honors will be given at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.
