ATLANTA (PNS) – The funeral of Opal Seelye, 89, who died Monday at Hopedale Medical Complex, who died Monday at Hopedale Medical Complex, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Quiram Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Kauffman will officiate, with a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Meadow Lawn Cemetery, Manito.

There will be no visitation.

She was born Sept. 24, 1890, in Manito, a daughter of John F. and Jennie Cogdal Gay. She married Ernest W. Seelye, who died in 1944.

Surviving are a son, Glenn, Reno, Nev., and a granddaughter.

A son and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She operated an insurance business for 20 years in Atlanta and also a dress and gift shop.

She also was a member of Atlanta United Methodist Church, to which memorials may be made.
