Robert D. “Bob” Seelye, 82, of Creve Coeur, IL, passed away at 1:55 a.m., Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at his daughter’s residence.

He was born April 10, 1930 in Pekin, IL to Jesse and Lena Mae (Herrman) Seelye. He first married Delores Lawson who passed away in 2000. He later married Marilyn Joyce Mannon on August 13, 2001 in Covington, IA. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Ellen (Randy Fitchen) Seelye of Creve Coeur, IL, Sherry Reed of Washburn, IL, John W. (Cheryl) Lucas of Canton, IL, Stephen Lucas-Perley of TN; 2 sisters, Joyce (Cliff) Hamilton of Brimfield, IL, Darlene Smith of Canton, IL; 1 brother Charles (Delma) Woodley of Glasford, IL; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and 1 sister in law, Nancy Pomeroy and 1 daughter-in-law, Gloria Lawson.

He was preceded in death by 3 sons Harold E. Lawson, John R. McRoy and James Seelye; 2 daughters Juanita Case and Clara Seelye; and a brother Delbert Seelye.

Bob was an Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Brimfield Post # 452. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Canton and attended Assembly of God Church in Cuba, IL.

He worked and retired from International Harvester for many years while driving part-time for Star Delivery on the weekends.

Bob was an avid NASCAR fan following only the Ford drivers. By request of Bob himself, he would like everyone attending his visitation and or funeral to be in casual dress. He did not want anyone dressed up in a suit.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Rev. Andy Fayffe will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, at the chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
