Mrs. Owen W. Seelye

Mrs. Theo K. Seelye died suddenly from a heart attack at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday at her apartment, 116 ˝ West Central avenue. Although not in the best of health, Mrs. Seelye had been about as usual and was on the streets earlier in the day. Mrs. E.A. Bold called on her about 4:30 p.m. and found her on the floor of the kitchen. A physician said she had been dead only a few minutes.

Mrs. Seeley was born in Olean, N.Y., and was married to Mr. Seelye in that city in 1914. They came to Titusville in 1923 and have lived here since. She was a member of St. Walburga’s church and had served as president of the St. Titus’ Part-Teacher Association several years. She was also active in the work of the Moms club during the war.

Besides the husband, she leaves one son, Owen E. Seelye, now attending the Pennsylvania Game Commission school at Brockway; one brother, John R. Kurtzhalter of Buffalo, and several nieces and nephews.

The body is at the E.O. Peterson funeral home, where friends may call and where the Rosary service will be celebrated at St. Walburga’s church at 9 a.m. Monday by the pastor, Rev. Cyril Cooper, and interment will be in St. Catharine’s cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Owen E. Seelye were conducted at 9 a.m. yesterday at St. Walburga’s church, with requiem mass celebrated by Rev. Cyril Cooper pastor. Music was provided by the children’s choir. Interment was in St. Catharine’s cemetery, with the following as pall-bearers: Louis Schlehuber, Jr., Don C. Miller, Lawrence Obergh, Francis Madden, James Minick and Joseph Bold.

Many friends called at the E.A. Peterson funeral home and attended the Rosary service Sunday evening.

Those here for the service from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Owen W. Seely (sic) of DuBois, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kurtzhalts and daughter, Alice of Buffalo and Mrs. Helen Ryder of Cleveland.
