Virgil Seelye

PEKIN (PNS) – Virgil J. Seelye, 50, of Washington Square Nursing Home, Princeton, and formerly of Manito, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday in Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, where he had been admitted earlier Monday.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Kuecks-Woolsey Funeral Home, Pekin, the Rev. Don Ridgeway officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Manito, a son of Jonathan Virgil and Goldie Fern Thomas Seelye.

Surviving are his mother, Pekin; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Green, Pekin; Mrs. Shirley Berfield, Manito, and Mrs. Goldie Brush, Galesburg, and two brothers, Harold, East Peoria, and Charles, Salem, Mo.

His father and a brother preceded him in death.

He was employed by the Gateway Community Center, Pekin.
