Mr. Alva LeRoy Seelye, age 81, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 1, 2002 around 6:00 PM.

He was born on June 18, 1920 to Roy and Ethel (Wilson) Seelye. He married Betty Jean Larabee on December 28, 1940. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He attended and was a member of Grace Bible Church Ministries for many years. He was employed for ProGas Sales and Service for 23 years until his retirement in 1977. LeRoy loved just spending time with all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved to travel and just ride and see deer.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, Betty; 2 sons, Earl (Jane) Seelye and Roy (Ruth) Seelye both of Muskegon; 4 daughters, Ethel (Ken) Killebrew of New Mexico, Betty (Ron) Minzey, Barb (Tom) Hoeker, Ruth (Bud) Clark all of Muskegon; 17 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 brother-in-law, Don (Jan) Larabee; 3 sisters-on-law, Ethel McPheron, Ruth Tice, Geneva Larabee; many nieces, nephews, close neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Beverly Jean, 1 son, Robert LeRoy, 1 granddaughter, Rachele Bogue, 2 great grandchildren, Jeremy Hoeker and Jessica Sidock, his parents, and 2 brothers, Oliver and Bill Seelye.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI, with Pastor Thomas Hoeker officiating. Interment will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery. Visitation with LeRoy’s family will be 6-8 Monday, March 4, 2002, 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at the funeral Home.
