PEKIN -- Carl William Seelye, 77, of 1621 Caroline St. died at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 1993, at Pekin Hospital.
Born June 18, 1915, in Green Valley to Henry and Mattie Dyer Seelye, he married Bernice Taylor on Dec. 23, 1935, in Pekin. She died Aug. 22, 1981. One daughter, Gloria, five brothers, two sisters and three grandsons also preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Howard, Carl and Wayne, and one daughter, Peggy Null, all of Pekin; 19 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
He was a heavy equipment engineer for D.J. Mahoney Construction in Pekin, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria and Pekin Eagles Lodge.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Maas Funeral Home in Manito. The Rev. Dowice Ashley will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery in rural Manito.
Memorials may be made to any charity.
