Britton - The funeral for Cody John Seelye will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at the Amacher Auditorium of Britton-Hecla School in Britton. Rev. Ryan Mutzenberger will officiate. Burial will be in the Houghton Cemetery of Houghton, S.D. Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton, and one hour preceding the funeral at the Amacher Auditorium. Cody died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at the age of 13. Cody John Seelye was born Feb. 18, 1991, at Oakes, N.D., to John and Lori (Graf) Seelye. He was currently a seventh-grader at Britton-Hecla Junior High in Britton. Cody was an active child. He had a ready smile, and liked to play little jokes. It was easy for him to make friends, and he had many friends. He attended the Hecla United Methodist Church with his family, where he was a member of the Sunday school and had just begun his confirmation studies. He played the alto saxophone in the band and was very proud of having made the starting lineup for the Britton-Hecla seventh-grade football team. He was a very lovable child, and enjoyed riding his bike, fishing and spending time with his pets. Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, John and Lori Seelye of Britton; a brother, Casey Seelye, and a sister, Amanda Seelye, both at home; great-grandparents: Rueben and Martha Ackerman of Aberdeen, S.D.; maternal grandparents: Robert and Janet Graf of Houghton, S.D.; paternal grandparents: Clifford and Betty Seelye of Fort Ransom, N.D.; aunts and uncles: Rockie Seelye of Kelso, Wash., Janie (Curtis) Bendewald of Ashley, N.D., Rod Seelye of Oakes, N.D., Jesse Seelye of Bismarck, N.D., Robert Seelye of Oakes, N.D., Jerry (Kim) Seelye of Pine River, Minn., Rosanna (Lee) Hicks of Oakes, N.D., Joe (Lori) Seelye of Cogswell, N.D., RaNora (Lyle) Sherrard of Cooperstown, N.D., Jenny (Carl) Cuhel of Oakes, N.D., Russell (Rikki) Seelye of Hecla, S.D., Pernell (Noella) Graf of Groton, S.D., Lee Graf of Omaha, Neb.; and many cousins.
