DONALD G. SEELYE, 82, DIES IN GOUVERNEUR

Donald G. Seelye, 82, Lake Road, died Saturday at Edward John Noble Hospital, Gouverneur, following a brief illness.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hawley Funeral Home, Star Lake. Burial will be in St. Hubert's Cemetery, Star Lake.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in Mr. Seelye's name to the Clifton-Fine Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; one brother, Kent of Star Lake and one sister, Leona Wilcox.

A sister, Ethel Smith, died previously.

Born in Oswegatchie Feb. 22, 1909, he was the son of Sebra and Anna Greenfield Seelye. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Oswegatchie High School.

On Feb. 12, 1934, he married Helen Quail, Monkland, Canada, at St. Mary's Cathedral, Ogdensburg. The Rev. John Cotter officiated.

Mr. Seelye was employed at the Ship Building Yard, Ogdensburg. He was also employed at Ogdensburg Psychiatric Center.

After moving to New Jersey, he worked for Edwater Aluminum Plant, Edgewater, N.J. He also ran a riding stable while in Edgewater.

He returned to Star Lake in 1946, where he owned and operated a gas marina. He was also a school bus driver for Clifton-Fine Central School District, retiring in 1969.

Mr. Seelye had been a member of the Clifton-Fine Lions Club since 1956.
