Publication LAUREL - Donald L Seelye, 83, went to be with our Lord and Savior after a long battle with Alzheimer's on Oct. 27, 2008.

Don was born Nov. 28, 1924, to George and May Seelye in New Leipzig, N.D. Don grew up in Tioga and Williston, N.D. He joined the Army in June of 1943, where he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He left the army after being honorably discharged in February of 1946. He returned to Williston, where he met the love of his life, Shirley Duffy. They married Sept. 6, 1948, and spent the next 60 years together. They had two sons, Roger of Lancaster, Calif., and Robert of Laurel. Don enjoyed life, spending his spare time hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. Don loved to dance and they still talk about how he and Shirley could "cut a rug together."

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Dale and Jack.

Don is survived by his wife, Shirley; and his sons, Roger and Rob; and his brother, Allard and wife Doris of Kalispell. Don is also survived by his great granddaughter Isabella of Lancaster, Calif.; she loved to come and visit Papa Don. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
