Publication Eleanor Jean Seelye died peacefully at Able Manor Foster Care Home in Clarkston MI, on May 18, 2008. She was well cared for by Samaritan Hospice for which the family will be forever grateful. Mrs. Seelye previously resided in Atlanta, GA, and after her late husband Robert Reid Seelye retired from Kelly Services, Sun City, AZ.

Mrs. Seelye was a loving mother to Jeannetta Seelye (Jerome) Carter, Dr. Mary Catherine Hollister and Christine Ann Seelye-King. She will be remembered also by grandchildren Jerome (Laschele) Carter, II, Natalie V. Vail, Robert L. Carter, Earl Nathan Hollister, II and Reid Robert Hollister, and her great grandchildren Riley and Jaden Carter.

During her lifetime Mrs. Seelye gained fame in the miniature world with “Seelyeville”, an authentic recreation of a turn of the 20th century mid-western village. Seelyeville, rich with attention to detail and creativity, was recognized in local Atlanta publications and the national miniaturist magazine, Nutshell New and Miniature Collectors.

A memorial service will be held at Lewis Wint Funeral Home, 5929 S. Main St, Clarkston, MI 48346 on Friday May 23. Visitation will begin at 11:30 followed by service at 12:30. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Samaritan Hospice, 24445 Northwestern Hwy, Suite 105, Southfield, MI 48075.
