Harold L. Seelye, 84, of 632 Cedar Rd., St. Marys, died on Monday evening, Feb. 7, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness of the past year.

He was born Dec. 8, 1926, son of the late Henry and Margaret Grasser Seelye.

On July 19, 1954, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Mary A. Horvatin, who survives.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1944. He was an employee of the former National Molded Products for 40 years and was a retired employee of Windfall Products.

He was a member of the Queen of the World Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a corporal in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. He was a former member of the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail, the American Legion, the St. Marys Gardners Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Seelye of St. Marys; five godchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Struble, Irene Seelye, Marion Seelye, and in infancy, Mary Seelye.

Due to the renovation of the Queen of the World Church, a Mass of Christian Burial for Harold L. Seelye will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt OSB as celebrant. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
