The death of Mrs. Ida M. Seelye of 405 Highland Road, Saint John, wife of the late Alton N. Seelye, occurred on Sunday, March 17, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Gagetown, NB, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Myrtle (Laskey) Parlee. Mrs. Seelye was employed at Connors Bros. Ltd. In Black Harbour for many years and later at Collingwood Nursing Home until her retirement. Following her husband’s retirement she and Alton lived in St. George for many years, and moved to Saint John in 1997. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara of Saint John, Penny of Saint John and Judy of St. George , one brother, Claire Parlee of Saint John, four grandsons, James, Jayson, Calvin and Cory, tow grand-daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, two great grand-daughters, Chantel and Rachel, several cousins, nieces and nephews. BY request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at 2:15 PM. Interment will take place at St. George Rural Cemetery at a later date. No flowers by request, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
