Irene H. (Reynolds) Seelye, 65, Canton RR 2, PA, died unexpectedly December 18, 1996 at Troy Community Hospital. Irene was born in West Grove, PA to Ira and Helen (Franklin) Reynolds on October 26, 1931. She was a caregiver and co-authorized the Senior Centers Operational Manual which is used by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. She was site manager of the Canton Community Center from 1974 until 1988 when she retired. She was a former member VFW Post No. 714 Ladies Auxiliary. Irene is survived by her husband of 44 years, C. Leroy Seelye, at home; sons, Michael of Canton and Scott Seelye Sr. of Plymouth, PA; daughter, Sandra McWilliams of Sterling, VA; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson; brothers, Robert I. Reynolds of Street, MD, Franklin F. Babcock of Canton; sisters, Linda H. Davis of Granville Summit, PA and Mary Short of Monroeton, PA; special friend, Ken VanNoy of Granville Summit; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles. Memorial services were held at the Morse & Kleese Funeral Home in Canton on December 21 with the Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Contributions in Irene's name may be made to the War Memorial Save the Pool Fund or the Canton Community Center for Senior Citizens.
