SEELYE, Mrs. Jane A.

Died Monday evening, May 12, 2003, in Kalamazoo, MI. Jane was born April 1, 1928, in Plainwell, MI, a daughter of Earl F. and Harriet (Harrington) Nelson Sr., and has been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. She attended Lake Forest College in Illinois. Jane and her family contributed to the betterment of many local and national educational institutions and cultural and nonprofit organizations. On July 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Mr. Donald "J" Seelye, who preceded her in death on December 10, 1997. Surviving are 2 sons and their wives, Michael N. and Sharon Seelye of Portage, MI, and Patrick J. and Debbie Seelye of Mattawan, MI; grandchildren, Michael T. and Lindsey Seelye of Portage, MI, Michelle Seelye of Portage, MI, Mauri Seelye of Portage, MI, and Kelly Seelye of Mattawan, MI; a great-granddaughter, Alexys Seelye; a brother, Earl F. Nelson Jr.; a sister, Mary Cramer; several nieces and nephews; and very special family friends, Eric and Theresa Kausrud and their children, Jason and Christin of Kalamazoo, MI. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public viewing or services. Private family services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. followed by private inurnment services in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
