PEKIN -- Joseph A. Seelye, 43, of Mountain Home, Tenn., formerly of Pekin, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, at the James H. Quill Veterans Administration Hospital in Johnson City, Tenn.

He was born Dec. 25, 1953, in Pekin to Loren and Dorothy Oberle Seelye.

Surviving are one brother, Jeffery L. of Pekin; one sister, Janet M. Jones of Summerville, S.C.; and two nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a former employee of Caterpillar Inc. He graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1971. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. The Rev. Gerald J. Verdun will officiate. There will be no visitation. Abts Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
