Publication CARY - Joseph M. "Joe" Seelye, 51, of Cary, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

He was born April 8, 1958, in Harvard, to Nathan L. and Catherine I. (Beadle) Seelye.

He married Nancy Arnolde on Nov. 9, 1985, in Cary.

He worked as a machinist and enjoyed chess and poker. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a musician and drummer.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Seelye of Cary; two children, Daniel and Jennifer, both at home; a brother, Keith (Beatrice) Seelye of Harvard; a sister, Mary Ellen (Tom) Bentley of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Kathy Dewey.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard, with the Rev. Paul White officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Harvard.
