A graveside service for Mable J. (Hougan) Seelye of Bellingham, formerly of Ferndale, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ferndale, with the Rev. Leslie Ann Knight officiating.

Mrs. Seelye died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at a local care center. She was 85.

Born May 25, 1915, to Martin and Mary (Creighton) Hougan in Ferndale, she was a lifetime Whatcom County resident.

On May 25,1935, she married Clarence Seelye in Bellingham.

Mrs. Seelye was a member of Garden Street United Methodist Church.

Her husband died previously.

Survivors include daughter Georgia Turner of Pleasant Plains, Ark. son Marvin Seelye of Anacortes seven grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
