Ralph A. Seelye, 90, of Howell, died Sept. 20. He was born Dec. 3, 1910, in Lansing , the son of Eric and Bess (Rouser) Seelye. He married Margaret E. Davis on July 3, 1936, in Lansing, and she survives. He was a life member of Howell Lodge 38 F&AM, Howell Commandery 28 KT, DeMolay, and Howell chapter 372 OES. He was a founding member of the Howell Hi-Twelve and Past State President, former member of the Howell City Zoning Commission; and portrayed Santa Claus and Bucky the Clown at many functions. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Howell, Livingston Chapter 73 RAM and Livingston County 30 R&SM. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, Dr. Roger R. (Phyllis) Seelye of Owosso; a grandson, Ron Seelye; and a granddaughter, Soo-Jin Seelye. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Robert. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell. Visitation is Sept. 13 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Deepdale Memorial Park, Lansing. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
