SEELYE, Ronald L. Of Burt, age 78, died Tuesday, September 30, 1997 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday, October 3, 1997 at the Montrose Chapel of Whipple Funeral Homes, Rev. David C. Collins officiating with burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-9PM and Thursday from 1-4 and 6-9PM. A Masonic and Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or the Montrose United Methodist Church. Mr. Seelye was born October 16, 1918 in Montrose, Michigan to Loyd and Mae (Campbell) Seelye. He had resided in Burt the last 8 years, coming from Montrose. Mr. Seelye married Ruth Somers January 8, 1939 in Marlette. He was retired from AC Spark Plug with 31 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 651. He was a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church, the Montrose Masonic Lodge #428 F&AM, and Order of Eastern Star, Montrose Chapter 351. Mr. Seelye was active with Job's Daughters and was a former member of the AC Male Chorus. Surviving are: wife, Ruth; 2 sons, Roderick Seelye of Chesaning, Randall and wife Lynn Seelye of Saginaw; daughter, Roberta and husband Harry Bigelow of Swartz Creek; brother, Raymond and wife Joanne Seelye of Saginaw; 2 sisters, Naomi and husband Jim Bolin of Traverse City, Betty and husband Charles Thompson of Cadillac; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Seelye was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. The family wishes to thank their friends and neighbors for their prayers and support during Ronald's illness.
