Rose Taft Seelye, age 90, of Knoxville, died on Monday, October 6, 1986, at the Green Home in Wellsboro.

She was born Feb. 27, 1896 in Chatham Township, the daughter of Arch and Sarah Lattimer Taft.

She was married June 3, 1922, in Deerfield Township to Clifton Seelye who died in 1968. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

She was a member of the Knoxville First Baptist Church, Wellsboro Chapter of the DAR, 63 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, 62 year member of the Galatea Rebecca Lodge. She served as a librarian in the Knoxville Public Library for 10 years.

She is survived by a son, Eugene A. Seelye of Knoxville and Clarion; a stepson and wife, Kenneth R. and Norma Seelye of Elkland, two step granddaughters and their families.

Graveside services will be held at the Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville, Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Paul Palmer Green will officiate. Arrangements by the Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland.
