Publication LAUREL — Shirley I. Seelye passed away Sept. 30, 2010, on her 82nd birthday of pneumonia complicated by lung disease.

She was one of eight children born to Greg and Ruby Dale (Hamilton) Duffy in Colgan, N.D. She married Donald L. Seelye Sept. 6, 1948, and celebrated 60 years together. They enjoyed summer camping, winters in Texas and dancing together. People still talk about how Shirley and Don could “cut a rug.” They had two sons, Roger of Lancaster, Calif., and Robert of Laurel.

Shirley enjoyed life, spending her spare time crocheting an array of custom holiday dolls, afghans and pillows. She was very accomplished in her craft which she shared with family and friends. She retired from Skaggs Drug in Billings after being a valued employee for many years.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her brother Don Duffy of Portland, Ore.; her sons, Roger and Robert; granddaughter, Vanessa Fisbeck and husband Kevin; a great-granddaughter Isabella, and many extended family members and friends.

Publication The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses of St. Vincent Healthcare and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their compassionate care.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laurel. Interment at Laurel Cemetery immediately follows the mass.
