Walter Stirling Seeley – Evelyn MacBerg

Walter Stirling and Evelyn Seeley of Kiantone, N.Y., and Winter Haven, Fla., celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 21, 2008, with a family picnic at the home of their daughter in West Ellicott. The celebration was hosted by their family. They are the parents of Nancy Taylor, West Ellicott, Jamestown; Peggy (Larry) Witherow, Albion, Pa.; and the late Patricia (John) Shongo and Kazue ''Kay'' (Shuzo) Hanada Yamaguchi of Japan, their AFS daughter. They also have four grandchildren: Amy (Brent) Zaprowski, Salisbury, Md.; Karen (Bart) Elliot, Louisberg, N.C.; Megan (Jeremy) Auge, DeWitt, N.Y.; and Nicholas Stirling Taylor at University at Buffalo and four great-grandchildren: Caylin and Madelyn Zaprowski and Patrick and Gracie Elliot.

Seeley and the former Evelyn MacBerg were married Oct. 13, 1943, in the home of Victor and Audry Saar in Jamestown.

Seeley was the former owner/operator of Walt's Car Exchange on Washington Street in Jamestown, and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Mrs. Seeley was a former private secretary at Crawford's Furniture. They are members of Kiantone Congregational Church, the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Horseless Carriage Club. Seeley has restored several antique automobiles and written award-winning articles for the AACA Magazine.
