Candlelight Ceremony United Miss Joy Seely, Bobby Ready in Sanger

In a candlelight ceremony Saturday at 7 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Seely of Sanger, their daughter, Miss Carolyn Joy Seely, became the bride of Bobby Joe Ready, son of Mr. J.R. Ready of Sanger.

The Rev. S.C. Greer, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sanger, officiated at the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The bride chose a wedding suit of rose-beige with brown accessories and she carried an orchid bouquet on a white prayer book. Mrs. Willard Bonds of Denton attended. Mrs. Ready as matron of honor. James Ready served as best man.

Miss Winnie Pearl Seal played “I Love You Truly” (Bond) and “Always” (Berlin). Mrs. Art Seely of Denton sang “Because” by D’Hardelot as prenuptial music.

Before an improvised mantle altar of white gladiolas and greenery, the couple were united in marriage. Tall white tapers burned in standards of candelabra.

A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and guests were greeted at the doors by the newlyweds and house party. Mrs. James Ready presided at the cake service and Mrs. S.C. Greer presided at the punch bowl. The three-tiered wedding cake was topped with the bride and groom figurines. The reception rooms were decorated with baskets of white gladioli.

The refreshment table was laid with an Irish linen handmade cloth. The centerpiece was of white candy-tuft and white chrysanthemums. Only the immediate families of the couple were present. Miss Peggy Ready presided at the bride’s guest register.

Mrs. Ready is a graduate of the Sanger High School. She is presently employed as assistant cashier at the First National Bank in Sanger, where she has worked six years. Mr. Ready is a graduate of Sanger High School and served in the U.S. Navy two and one-half years. He is also employed at the First National Bank. They will reside in Sander.
