David Pickett, Carolyn Seely Spend Honeymoon in Colorado

Mr. and Mrs. David Pickett are honeymooning in Colorado and other western points of interest following their wedding Sunday at Cicero Christian church. The bride is the former Miss Carolyn Sue Seely, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Seely, of Cicero, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Fayola Pickett, of near Arcadia.

The double ring ceremony was read by Rec. E.J. Glendenning; of Geneva, former minister of Hobbs Methodist church. Candles were lighted by Bill Seely, brother of the bride, and John Weismiller, of Burtisville, cousin of the bridegroom.

Bouquets of daisies and white peonies and candelabra with white tapers decorated the altar. Bridal airs were played by Mrs. Don Hope and Miss Kathy Barnhizer.

A princess style gown of white slipper satin was born by the bride, who was given in marriage by her father. Her fingertip length veil fell from a tiara of orange blossoms, and her pearl necklace was a gift from the bridegroom. She carried a white Bible crested with two orchids and lovers knot streamers.

Miss Inita Beechler, of Cicero, was maid of honor. Her gown was of white embossed organdy over pastel yellow satin and she carried a nosegay of yellow snapdragons and daisies and wore a matching headband.

Junior bridesmaid was Miss Laura Ellen Brown, of Windfall, cousin of the bride, and bridesmaid was Miss Barbara Heavener, of Cicero. They wore gowns fashioned like that of the honor attendant in blue and pink, with matching bouquets and headbands.

Gowns for the bridal party were made by Mrs. Seely, mother of the bride.

Best man was Don Overdorf, of Arcadia, and groomsman was Phil Pickett, brother of the bridegroom. Bill Bishop of Arcadia, and Red Whisman, of Cicero, were ushers.

Mrs. Seely, mother of the bride, was attired in navy blue with white accessories, and Mrs. Pickett, mother of the bridegroom, wore pastel blue and white accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of pink roses.

A reception for approximately 200 guests followed in the church social rooms. In charge were Mrs. Mary Roberts and Miss Judy Stoops, of Cicero; and Miss Judy Seely and Miss Karen Seely, of Elwood and Miss Judy Deppen, of Arcadia. Guests were registered by Mrs. Kay Stevens, of Cicero, and Miss Fay Mosbaugh, of Arcadia, and Miss Audy Seely, of Elwood, were in charge of gifts.

The bridal table was laid with a white linen cloth with decorations of candelabra and pastel snapdragon and daisy bouquets. A miniature bride and groom and wedding bells topped the four-tiered wedding cake which was served with punch, mints and nuts.

Guests were from Tipton, Arcadia, Atlanta, Cicero, Hobbs, Noblesville, Curtisville, Elwood, Kokomo, Anderson and Geneva.

After June 15 the couple will be at home in Arcadia.

Both the bride and her husband were graduated from Jackson Central high school. She is employed as secretary to the Hamilton county school superintendent and he is employed with Biddle Manufacturing company, Sheridan.
