Witt-Seely Rites Followed by NY Wedding Trip

At a candlelight ceremony in the Ward Avenue Presbyterian church, Miss Carroll Patricia Seely, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Seely, Jr., of Oak Knoll, became the bride of Sylvan M. Witt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Witt of Edgewater, Md., Saturday evening, Aug. 14.

Rev. William Shaffer solemnized the double ring ceremony, David Kimmel was organist.

Following a reception for 100 guests in the church social room; the couple left for a wedding trip to Bedford Springs and Ithaca, N.Y. They will reside at Edgewater, Md.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride selected a gown of white French lace and net over taffeta. Pearls and sequins formed the crown which held her fingertip-length veil and she carried white roses on a white satin Bible.

Miss Georgene Seely of Ithaca, N.Y., sister of the bride, was maid of honor with Mrs. Patricia Sames of Drury, Md., as bridesmaid. They were attired in pink and ice blue respectively and carried bouquets of rainbow colored flowers.

William Ward of Edgewater, Md., cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man with Charles B. Seely, 3rd, of Ridgway and George H. Seely of Hollidaysburg, both brothers of the bride, ushering.

The mother of the bride wore aqua and a corsage of yellow roses. The bridegroom’s mother chose old rose lace over satin and white roses.
