SMITH – SEELY

Miss Mildred Seely, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon H. Seeley, of Slackwood, Trenton, N.J., and Aviation Chief William Lewis Smith, of 414 Wilson street, this city, were united in marriage on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 22, at 5 o’clock in St. Hedwig’s Church, Trenton. The double ring ceremony was used.

Mrs. Helen Walloner, the soloist sang “Ave Maria.”

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin made with a fitted bodice trimmed with chantilly lack around the high neckline and the sleeves. The full skirt flared to form a long train. Her full length veil was held with a Juliet cap of tulle and she carried a white prayer book with orchids and a shower of narrow satin ribbons caught with gardenias.

Mrs. Alice Cole, of Trenton, the matron of homor, wore a gown of powder blue tulle over gaille taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink and yellow roses.

Charles Convery, of Boothwyn, was best man for Mr. Smith.

Mrs. Seely, mother of the bride, wore an aqua gown with a feathered hat to match and a corsage of gardenias and Mrs. Smith, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black gown trimmed with fuchia, a black hat and a corsage of gardenias.

A reception was held at Lawrence Lodge, Lawrenceville, with guests being present from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Mr. Smith and his bride left for a wedding trip to New York and Washington, D.C. He was on a 30 day leave from the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga.
