Seely-Patterson

Miss Joan M. Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luke C. Patterson, of 2119 Pershing ave., Faraday Park, and Richard E. Seely, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Seely, of Marsieller, Pa., will be united in marriage this afternoon at 2 o’clock in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church by Rev. Joseph B. Gilson.

The bride, who will be given in marriage by her father, will wear a white ballerina length gown of embroidered Swiss organdy fashioned with a fitted bodice, short sleeves, a V-neckline and a very full skirt. She will wear a fingertip veil of tulle held with a Juliet cap of the organdy and will carry an old-fashioned bouquet of white gladioli and roses.

Miss Kathleen Brandt, of Oakmont, the maid of honor and the bridesmaids: Miss Winifred J. Burke, of Rutledge and Miss Annabelle Watson of Faraday Park, will wear gowns of organdy fashioned with scalloped necklines, tight bodices and full skirts with scalloped hemline. The maid of honor will wear yellow and the bridesmaids blue. They will wear open crown scalloped linen hats to match their gowns and will carry old-fashioned bouquets of baby chrysanthemums.

Joseph Hanlon, of Sharon Hill, will be best man for Mr. Seely and his ushers will include: Charles Bonch, of Pittsburgh and Nicholas Spohn, of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Rose Mullen will play the wedding music and accompany the soloist Mrs. Norman Puscian.

A reception at the home of the bride’s parents will follow the ceremony after which Mr. and Mrs. Seely will leave for Washington, D.C. where they will reside at 104 19th st., S.E.

The bride was graduated from Notre Dame High School in June 1948.

Mr. Seely, a policeman in Washington, D.C., was graduated from Barnesboro High School in June 1946, and served four years in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre and Korea.
