JONES-SEELEY NUPTIALS A SURPRISE

Young People Slip Away to County Seat and the Knot Is Tied by Congregational Pastor

HIGHLAND, Oct. 16 – The marriage of Miss Minnie Jones and Will Seely, took place this afternoon in the Congregational church at San Bernardino, the pastor of that church Rev. Price officiating.

There were present none but the contracting couple, the minister, Mrs. John Cleghorn, aunt of the bride, Mrs. Bemis and Mrs. D.R. Seely, mother of the groom.

The bride wore a neat dark maroon colored tailored suit with hat to match. Immediately after the ceremony the newly married couple left for Los Angeles where they will remain until the first of the coming week.

The wedding today was the culmination of a courtship that commenced several years ago, and while their friends realized that a marriage would follow eventually, they were agreeably surprised when the news was received late this afternoon.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Seely are well known here, having taken a lively part in the social life among the young folks, and their friends are many. Mrs. Seely has been residing with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Cleghorn, for the past few years. Mr. Seely is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D.R. Seely, and is employed in the Independent packing house owned by Cleghorn brothers.

The newly married couple will take up their residence in a cottage on Cole avenue, a gift from Mr. Seely’s father.
